Guest JamesDE Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 This is a combination of these 2 kits. First up is a mock up of how she is gonna sit. A little mud A little trimming a mock up with the hood scoop with a lot of work to do.
white00gt Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Great job so far, can't wait to see more progress- just a suggestion it might be easier to add a"4in." cowl hood might look more aggressive also -you can check out 5.0 mustang magazine or numerous other web-sites for reference pictures for the hood.....
Guest JamesDE Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 I was considering that bro! Lets see what I can do.
whale392 Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Looks good so far....you gonna keep it Ford powered I hope?!
James Flowers Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 I'll be watching this one to see what you end up with.
3men2s Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 I would't ever expected for that chassie to fit that fox body like that....WOW was I rong..... like the OUTLAW LOOK.
Guest JamesDE Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 I would't ever expected for that chassie to fit that fox body like that....WOW was I rong..... like the OUTLAW LOOK. I was surprised as well. I am gonna have to shorten the frame a little bit. Other than that, it is coming out pretty well. I will post some pics up in a bit. Thanks for looking. James
Guest JamesDE Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Got a little bit more done yesterday. Here are some pics.
whale392 Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Car looks good so far, but I can't say I care for putting a Chevy motor in it.
Jantrix Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Car looks good so far, but I can't say I care for putting a Chevy motor in it.
Guest JamesDE Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 I'll agree, however you'll have to agree that sometimes you have to make do with what you have handy. Not to mention I haven't seen a Ford Pro-stock on the hobby shop shelves lately. The Stang looks great. I'm looking forward to seeing it done. Thanks Jantrix. I cant wait to see this done myself. I think paint will be either orange or red for the body.
blue504life Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 a chevy powered ford, just trash it now, liking the way its going just not the chevy part
Guest JamesDE Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 a chevy powered ford, just trash it now, liking the way its going just not the chevy part Well, everyone has an opinion. I just wanted to do something different.
Roadkill2525 Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Its a Pontiac powered Ford, something different. Whats the plan for color?
scubadiver411 Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 I think that car will turn out great If you ever watch "Pinks- All Out", there was a guy running a '70s Camaro with a ford engine in it As for color, how about orange in front fading to a red in the back ?? STEVE ALLEN

STEVE ALLEN I never even thought about doing a fade. That sounds really cool.
george 53 Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 James, check out Mr.Biggs semi-tutorial on sprayin flames! Maybe a cool fade job,WITH flames would look cool! Oh, an you coulda done ALOT better'n a mustang for that motor!
conor1148 Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 i did the same exact thing as this (same donor car) with my latemodel gt500 and a blown chevy small block, nice little donor cars eh?
3men2s Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 I know this is your build, but in this case I really will consider putting a FORD BIG BLOCK in it. I have two engines from the JUKEBOX FORD PRO MOD FAILANE still inthe box. I can ship one to you, free only if you are putting it in this car. let me know

I will PM you in a sec. wow man this car is looking good cant wait to see it done, i think you should leave the chevy motor in it, but thats because im c chevy fan lol keep us posted
OneTrickPony Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Hey Everybody! Just install the intake backwards with the distributor in the front. Reshape the valve covers a little if you feel really energetic and you've turned that Chevy into a Ford! Most people would never know the difference anyway.
Abell82 Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 I think it would look better as an LX than a Cobra regardless of what engine it has!!
Guest JamesDE Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Thank you 3men2s. I got the engine today. When I have time(after I get the hood shaped up for a Chevy COE I am working on) I will start working on building the engine for this Stang. Thank you all for the warm comments.
