I like your COPO as well. :P I like the green. Were these kitted as COPO's or is there conversion parts available to make a kit into a COPO? I don't recall seeing this kit.

'69 COPO Camaros (Coprorate Office Production Order) were base Camaros with factory-installed 427's. The Revell '69 Yenko Camaro kit builds a COPO simply by NOT applying any of the Yenko decals. bsoder added steel wheels and caps but it would still be an accurate COPO with the kit supplied Chevy rally wheels.

Brian, my ex-brother in laws cousin Jesse owned that same car. It was a dark rallye green, an the interior was a darker shade but, essentially it's the same car!. It was SO fast, that with 4 guys in it, EVERY time he shifted, I could FEEL the springs in the back seat backs pushing against me,HARD! That thing SCREAMED!!!! They were TOO much car for every day use. Jesse left for Nam,didn't make it,God Bless him, and I never saw the Camaro again,But I'll NEVER forget it, it was just pure awesome power that, if you didn't respect it, it WOULD kill you! Carry a magnet with ya at the next street meet. If some guy tells ya it's an aluminum anything, just touch it with the mag. If it sticks ,it ain't aluminum. Jess did it in reverse, to show it WAS aluminum. Those cars were just AWESOME! B):D

Thanks for the info. B) It was the wheels on this kit that made me wonder. I think most of the COPO's I've ever seen had the steel wheels like this one. I just can't remember having seen any COPO's with rally wheels like the Yenko kit comes with. I kinda like the steelies over the rallies for a COPO build, myself. :D Either way, NICE! I think I may be building me a COPO......someday. :D

Brian,

Another fantastic COPO graces our pages.....thank you.

Super job on the motor mate, and I don't mind this colour too.... B)

When (?) I get to build one I'm not decided on a colour yet...it will need to be something which I can get a close

match with to one of Tamiya's sprays....and their colours generally aren't really close to "factory colours"... ;)

Overall appearance and application looks 110% mate, great work.

cheers

Thanks guys..and George what a great story (and a sad one) I wish I'd made the interior a darker green, I got lazy & used a grn. on hand!

Looking good, Brian!!

The '69 Camaro was one of my favorites!! I had a '67 SS Camaro and almost bought a really nice '69 SS with the 396 and a four speed, but I didn't want to borrow the additional $300 that I needed to get it. Imagine that...only $300 separated me from one of my favorite cars...

Fantastic Job, definately a car that would never be kicked ot of my Garage(Always enjoy COPO's, and that Green for them)......

The only things I would change, or add to that, was that the first C stood for Central.... It actually still exsists today, but for the most part it has to do with the Fleet Management aspect of GM (Ie most Police/Taxi/Commercial/Government Vehicle orders go through there, after it was reabsorbed back into the Corporation)....... Also Berger/Yenko/Motion/etc Cars all started their lives as COPO's, once they figured out thatht ey could order the cars directly from GM, with the majority of the Options they wanted already on the car/ in the trunk(The Bigger engines could already be in the car off the assembly line, but the manifolds(Header/Intake),Aircleaner, and Etc were placed in the trunks(Basically an easy way around the Performance Restrictions of the past).......
