Howard Cohen Posted July 5, 2022 Posted July 5, 2022 This past weekend was the IMSA Chevrolet Grand Prix held at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada. There were several classes and types of cars, although a few teams were unable to make the trip. The cars were fast, very fast, with the winning Cadillac DPi (Daytona Prototype International) car averaging about 138MPH over the 2.49 mile course for 2 hours, 40 minutes, 123 laps. A new qualifying record was set and that kept everyone on their toes for race day. There were also support races and the TCR race on Saturday was very close and was won by 2 Canadian drivers, Robert Wickens and Mark Wilkins. The weekend also had an historic race with some F1 and Atlantic cars, they still look good. I managed to take a few photographs (over 2,000), so grab a drink and set a spell https://public.fotki.com/howardcohen/chevrolet-grand-pri1/ 1
iamsuperdan Posted July 8, 2022 Posted July 8, 2022 I'm envious that you can see that kind of racing in person. Our local tracks are either drag strips or dirt ovals. The one road course here doesn't hold races, they only do autocrossing or lap sessions.
