Any Info On A Polistil Porsche 924

I've been cleaning out my parent's storeroom and came across a box of my old stuff. This was in a box I forgot about a long time ago. It's 1/24th and the box is a bit squished. The second picture is stolen from the net. My actual question is whether this model is based on an actual race car.

There was a 924 that raced in Le Mans in 1982 that looks like that.

I couldn’t find anything with vented front over fenders like that. Closest was the GTP car Roerhl drove. Neat model.
