Depending on who cast your car, there's a coupla ways to prep it. Westley's is always on the list, but a good degreaser type soap can work too. I use Simple Green just wash it down real good with a tooth brush an let it air dry. I've also used "New Dawn" dishsoap. Just clean it REAL good an let it dry, an you should be good ta go!

I have actually built hundreds of resin kits. All of the cleaners mentioned so far are fine but I recommend in addition to very thoroughly wet-sanding (400-600 grit) the body being very careful, obviously, to not sand off the detail. It helps very much. If you are painting with spray cans be sure to use very light "dust" coats of paint to start with. You can use wet coats later to finish. Good luck.

Wesley's Bleach White works well. The other thing that I use is 91% Isopropyl Alcohol, it works well and is inexpensive. Once I'm to the primer stage I use Dupli-Color's Self-Etching Primer. It looks a lot like zinc chromite and it does indeed etch the surface of the resin. Beats sanding and running the risk of sanding through the smooth surface layer.
