Getting some things ready for winter time projects, I decided to build another one of these... with a twist...

Not a bad start. I've got a couple going that I have to finish first, so it'll be a little bit before I get back to this one.

Stay tuned...

The paint finish looks like an old Bell Telephone truck. I guess you would have to be old enough to remember dial phones and when the phone company would come to your house to install them to remember the color.

Many of my formative years were in the "burbs of Chicago. Arlington Heights, Wilmette, and Barrington. I remember the service bodies on the usually 1/2-ton short wheelbase trucks. They would move the old box to the new chassis withouty even repainting them. I think they used WWII Surplus Army OD paint.

Are you planning on hairspray or chipping fluid for this?

It looks to my eye like you bottom coat will look great poking through a top coat.

AK makes a superb chipping fluid. So does Vallejo. That is of course if you're using acrylic. If not, then it's the salt mines for this Ford.

Actually paint wise, it's probably where it's going to be.. I'll be adding weathering powders and such to add the depth I'm looking for.

My weathering is usually subtle
