Dragline Posted October 26, 2022 Posted October 26, 2022 I am pretty far along on this one but a WIP seems OK. Testors Tangerine enamel with a dark grey interior. These kits are quite simple affairs with the emphasis placed on outward appearence mostly. Engines are simple as well with only about 6 or 7 main components. Detail painting is key but they do look good through the bonnet and I guess that was the goal. Excellent decal sheets with gauges and outer carbon parts well represented. Suspension is practically non existent. The plastic on these is so soft even looking at it sideways makes a mark. If you get one beware. It will make a nice shelf model when completed. 1
Leo64 Posted October 27, 2022 Posted October 27, 2022 Nice job on the build so far. I like how the dash came out. That color looks close to Ferrari Rosso Dino. ? 1
Dragline Posted October 27, 2022 Author Posted October 27, 2022 Thanks... The decal sheet is great as I said, and it makes a difference when it came to the dash. Rosso Dino eh? I just thought the tangerine would be a great color for an exotic.
majel Posted October 27, 2022 Posted October 27, 2022 Beautiful color and that dash came out really nice, good work. 1
beeRS Posted October 27, 2022 Posted October 27, 2022 Orange - my favourite colour for 1:1 cars (you hardly ever see them!). Great to see orange on a Ferrari, instead of the usual red. Looking forward to seeing this one come together. 1
Dragline Posted October 27, 2022 Author Posted October 27, 2022 The chassis and interior are pretty much done. Wheels are waiting on drying rotors and calipers. Going with the kit supplied chrome wheels for a bit of bling. A few carbon accent decals and Ill be able to lay down a few clear coats. Testors Extreme lacquer dries in only a week so Ill have it all wrapped up at that point. I have a few more of these and may break another one out. They make nice contrasts to the more intense builds I saddle myself with at times. 1
beeRS Posted November 27, 2022 Posted November 27, 2022 Has this one made any progress? Looking forward to seeing it on those wheels.
Dragline Posted November 27, 2022 Author Posted November 27, 2022 None.... It has taken a back seat to quite a few other things. But it is time to wrap it up. Sometime soon. Thanks for looking in.
