Jhedir6 Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 Yep, happened a couple of weeks ago now. Toyota is suppose to be coming shortly as well. My guess is they'll bang out a few Mustangs then swap to the Toyotas while they rework the Camaro.

Bbo1974 Posted December 6, 2022 Posted December 6, 2022 Off subject... kinda, not really but still... I wonder if licensing for the new Mustang would also enable them to make a correct 1983-1986 Thunderbird. I think that would be a very popular kit.

It depends on what the licensing agreement is for, Ford, or just the Ford Mustang cars. If it's a general agreement with Ford to produce their products, it could happen, I remember seeing talk on one of the FB groups about some older NASCAR kits from Salvino's, but if it's just for the NEXT GEN cars then they'll have to do the process all over again for anything else. Also they have to come to agreements with the Teams and Sponsors as well.
Toys4Don2 Posted December 12, 2022 Posted December 12, 2022 It’s my understanding that the license will allow them to redo the old Monogram molds they own as time permits, but they are very unlikely to update any of those molds in the foreseeable future. The better news is that it opens the door for them to create some Mercurys!
Johnny Canuck Posted December 13, 2022 Posted December 13, 2022 Jings, I'd make them eye-catching and highly successful early-mid 70s Mercs a priority over those humdrum mid-80s Tunderbirds. Not a Ford guy by any means through either (any) era but happy to acknowledge what I feared, respected and begrudgingly admired. And most importantly, what I would build.
