chebbysteve Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 This is a rebuild of one I originally did about 20 years ago. Back then it was candy green with some really ugly red and yellow flame decals on the hood and sides. It had skirts and dual antennas and a fuzzy tonneau cover and was still a convertible. Now the top is gone and we have a hard tonneau. Also opened up the wheel wells. This is my first shiny paint job in about 15 years, and I had some problems as you can see. But it's a step in the right direction, and it's done. So, take a look and tell me what you think.
Jantrix Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 Now that I like. The shaved body with the skinny whites and excellent wire wheels are just spot on. Great work.
randx0 Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 I really like the radiased wheel opening much better than skirts .nice work .i like the look but the rear deck area needs something . maybe a single whip antenna with a raccoon tail . I also like the red wheel hubs how come they aren't red on the passenger side? and the paint job looks fine to me so keep makin them shiny. thanks for sharing.
george 53 Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 What's wrong with it? I like it. Looks 50's ta me! The wheel wells came out rather nice, adds a balance. I like the wires.
chebbysteve Posted February 12, 2009 Author Posted February 12, 2009 I'm glad you guys like this one. The one thing that makes it work is those wheels. Really excellent wires to be made of plastic. I would love to have some more. But I have no idea where those came from. This build was over 20 years ago, and maybe they were in one of my kits or maybe they came from a parts box that I acquired. The bullets on the wheels are cool, but I only had two silver and two red ones. So, I thought I would just try them both. My big parts boxes are about a hundred miles away, and when I can get to them, I may replace the bullets with knockoffs. This kit and the coupe are some of my favorites from AMT. Maybe I will buy them again and try some new stuff. Steve
