Lucius Molchany Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 I had a problem with my Strombecker 1/32 track in that one lane kept going dead.I determined that is was a power supply problem .I rewired a wall wart to allow it to attach to the terminal track.Fixed the problem;!I also found that 1/43 scale Fastlane and Carrera GO!cars perform surprisingly well!
cobraman Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 Takes me back to the 60's when I had a layout in the garage.
Lucius Molchany Posted February 23, 2023 Author Posted February 23, 2023 The guard rails are essential as some of the cars are very fast and the right curves could cause them to crash to the floor!
Mike 1017 Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 I am in the process of fine tuning my Carrera Evolution set up. You are right about the Carrera GO cars. I can run those cars at full throttle with no traction or crashing problems. Nice Strombecker set up Mike
Lucius Molchany Posted February 23, 2023 Author Posted February 23, 2023 Yes tye Police and Fire Chief cars can be be run flat out because the lights act as a voltage tap The white Mustang has to be carefully driven ..very fast and prone to spin outs if you don't pay attention!

Phirewriter Posted March 30, 2023 Posted March 30, 2023 That's a nice layout, the banked curve seems to be one of the harder to find Strombecker pieces. If you're interested I might have a working 2 lane LeMans start from my pile of vintage track stash. Hoping to get my vintage Revell track set up in the near future. We downsized to a condo so basement space is much smaller. I'm designing a track table so an H.O. layout can be folded down over the large scale layout.
