'76 Revell Chevy Stepside pickup

Recommended Posts

I found this at Hobby Lobby discounted to $7.50 and grabbed it for the heck of it. It turned out to be a fun build. I threw a lot of weathering techniques at it and loaded the bed with some random items. Thanks for looking!

Great find. I remember when this body trim model Chevrolet came out. They looked great when new, but unless garaged all the time the tape stripes didn't age well nor did the paint if not cared for. Your finish on the surface oxidation and the way the stripes are deuterating are very realistic looking.

Thank you. I wanted it to look like something that is used all the time with little regard to how it actually looks.

Great job on the weathering, super good looking build!

It was the first time I used the hairspray technique - it's on the roll bar, push bar, and the spare tire bracket - it really does produce a nice rusted look!
