noname Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Has anybody ever found a good 1/25 scale tire to replicate the old Bucron tires that were so desireable before the NHRA allowed stockers to use cheater slicks? Here is a couple pics of a vintage Bucron tire I found on the net.
noname Posted February 19, 2009 Author Posted February 19, 2009 I think you could put the grooves into any slick using a drill or a rotary tool to spin the tire (which is all you'd need to make cheater slicks). I'm not sure what you could use to simulate the shallow tread pattern. Maybe it could be painted on there using something with similar texture as a stamp? or maybe sanding down the tread of another tire? I was hoping an aftermarket company had something.
Casey Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 (edited) i think the closest to those are the cheater slicks in the Polar lights Dodge kits. they are pretty nice tires that will fit into the wheelwells of alot of cars, they arent really wide or tall. Dave I agree. Here's a not very good pic of one of those tires: I still like the pie crust slicks from the Monogram Boot Hill Express and Lil Coffin kits, but they are true slicks with no tread detail: Edited February 19, 2009 by Casey
