I’ll be doing the Foose 65 Chevy impala for a friend eventually, and she wants aftermarket rims instead of the Foose versions. These are the rims & tires and specs. Not sure how big the rims and tires are that came with the Foose kit as my caliper broke. These Pegasus wheels use the metal bar as an insert and the Foose version isn’t set up for that. So how would I use the custom inner wheel part from the kit with the Pegasus wheels? First time doing something like this. I think the Pegasus set would fit with no clearance issues, just not sure how to install them. Should I get these as well to go with them? The rims are T23’s

  • Inner Diameter: 18mm
  • Outer Diameter: 26mm
  • Width: 11mm

I'd find some styrene rod the size of the hole in the centre of the brakes and glue that in the holes, flush to the edges, then drill out the centre to suit the new rims

Sounds reasonable, but how would I attach it to this part in the pic? Drill hole same size at the back of the rod or cut off the wheel back attachment part, and just glue it on?

I built the same kit about 5 yrs ago using the same tires/wheels you have chosen. I dont believe I did any modifications to height. I did cut off the kit pins (clips?) and used some dowel mounted in the spindles and in the rear diff.

I just used a set of Pegasus wheels and tires on my 66 Impala. I was able to cut off the wheel stub all the way on the Pegasus wheels and the wheel backs from the kit fit right in there. I didn't have to do anything to the kit chassis.
