I just received my FIA Cobra wheels. They look very good but undersized at about 15.6 mm diameter. By comparison the HRM are 17.4 mm

The few 15" kit wheels I have checked are in the 17.2 - 17.6 range, a bit over scale but that's what we have to deal with if using tires from these kits.

Hi Pierre,

I'll send you back your order with the new dimensions. ?

Tell me what diameter you want, maybe 17,5?

Sorry about that.

Merci Jason and no worries. I am not looking for free wheels but observing in sizes required to fit available tires. Thinking mostly about diameter sizing for the Borranis you are developing. I've put together a file and will feed it back through the group PM about Borranis.

No, let me send you back your order with the correct diameter. The mistake is mine, so it's normal that I send you back the order.

I'm creating tires to go with the rims, they will be ready very soon.

Thank you Jason. I suggest 17 mm would best replicate a 15 inch wheel and the tires should match that. I have done a bit of research on tire dimensions that I will share shortly on private message. Curious to see how it compares to the tires you are working on.

I just received mine, and WOW!  Amazing detail!

I agree with the above - although I'll use these with the AMT 1/25 kit.   Is it possible to size them for the Revell/Monogram 1/24 kit also?   I'd pick up a couple more sets in that case.

Again - amazing detail.  And pretty fast shipping for half way 'round the world.   HIGHLY recommended :)

Thank you so much for your feedback!

The new sizes will be available tomorrow.

Small update for the rims:

I've just finished working on tires specially designed for rims.

They will come with good year stencils (and maybe others of your choice), the stencils will only be available for 1:24 1:25 1:18 scale.

For 1:43 scale, the tires will be engraved.

The stencils are currently in the test phase, so I want to make sure they work properly. Unfortunately I don't have an airbrush (yes, I know I need one ?), so I've sent some samples to a friend. As soon as I get the go-ahead, the tires will be available.

17mm is not overscalled by realism. 17mm in 1:24 scale is 16" a 15" wheel is 15" OD on the barrel you need to add in 1-2" for the flange a lot of people overlook that. 15.6mm is ~15" 1:24/25, 17mm is more correctly scaled for how a wheel actually looks from the street.

Well....thank you Charles but you are quoting only part of what I wrote and making judgement on it. In the end I was proposing 17mm as a good starting point for a 15 inch wheel...

Anyhow we are working the details for wheel & tire with Jason who is developing these products.

I quoted the whole post no need to get cranky just trying to put perspective on it. But normally I dont even make posts helping out competition.

Those stencils are a GREAT solution to laying down tire lettering - nice work!

Here are my version, base design was by Ryan at ZForceModelWorks modified to fit my system for mounting and brake options. Works with all my rubber tires of corresponding sizes. Available in 15x8 15x10 and 15x12.

Aahh Charles, I had decided to let it slide with your comment about me being cranky and you being the altruistic supplier living to help other suppliers. But here you go again hogging someone else's post to sell your stuff. Don't get me wrong, I can clearly see that you make great products and you should start your own thread to discuss it instead of jumping in on a thread involving another supplier to sell your stuff. Not the first time you do this and it's disrespectful. Now you can say I'm cranky!

Now I thought this was just a post about people supplying this wheel now I understand how I misinterpreted the first few post and I pulled my pictures down that was bad on me and I apologize I was legitimately confused about what this post was. I read the first post it didn't really have a link to someone's site or page it was just like hey what if someone made these I posted without reading everything and that's on me but still look man I was just stating a fact the first time You definitely rub me the wrong way and I responded I wasn't even going to put mine here I have my own thread and I did listen there but you when I try to offer some insight got a little snarky You can say that you weren't but you were but I tell you what go on with this I pulled anything referencing anything I make up from there and like I said I apologize that was bad on me. As far as you being snarky or not towards me I was legitimately just trying to point out something about wheels and I made the same mistake when I first started making them undersized because you know logically a 15-in wheels 15 in but it's not in fact I went out and measured my wheels on my Mustang which are 20s and they're about 22 in on the flange face I started doing a little more research and you know it is what it is I was just trying to offer some insight.

I juste received the extra sets from Jason, scaled at 17mm which to me is the sweet spot to represent a 15 inch wheel.

Picture below shows comparison to the HRM wheels. The HRM are mounted on their dedicated tire and Jason's wheels are mounted on 1/24 Revell Cobra 427 tires.

Thank you Jason, these wheels are superb. And the spinners are perfect!

Just to confirm, before ordering another set of these beautiful wheels, 17mm is perfect for the Revell / Monogram 1/24 Cobra tires?

Yes, it seems to me that 1.7cm is the perfect size for this kit. I'd still advise you to measure your tyres to be sure. ?

Thank you!  The one set that I ordered earlier - the detail is excellent!  Thank you - planning to order some more. :)
