El Roberto Posted June 11, 2023 Posted June 11, 2023 Could I get some feedback about Tru-color pearl paint? Tru color says it's a "hot" acrylic whatever that means. Thanks
El Roberto Posted June 11, 2023 Author Posted June 11, 2023 Oops, I forgot to check the archives for answers. Anyway....what primer would you recommend?
Shark Posted June 12, 2023 Posted June 12, 2023 I use Duplicolor spray cans to prime kits painted with automotive lacquer, and you don't get much "hotter" than those. Just apply your paint in lighter coats, not too wet. 1
Dave G. Posted June 12, 2023 Posted June 12, 2023 Hot acrylics are an acrylic polymer in a solvent base much like acetone, could even contain some acetone in the mix. It could also be acrylic lacquer which is usually in a relatively hot solvent base as well. It should go over most lacquer primers fine, Duplicolor, Mr Primer Surfacer, Mr Surfacer etc.
