This is a pretty big project for me to take on. I started doing commission builds/replicas as a side gig for a while. This one is for a good buddy of mine and his business out in California. I'm honored he wanted me to do this for him.

Started put with an original 70's release Ertl kit, hacked off the rear frame section and swapped it out for an italeri air ride set up. Shortened the fuel tanks, moved the air cleaner and battery boxes back slightly, Italeri Cummins NTC350 swap, and custom made decals. I am still waiting for the new rims, hydraulic tank, and rear 1/2 fenders to arrive next week. After that, I'll be moving right along on this project! Here's what I've got so far, long ways to go yet.

That is a good start, Alex!  The cab is looking good. I like how everything is proper and flawless.  The custom decals match the real thing also.

At the end, it definitely looks like an interesting project trying to reproduce this rig for a buddy!

Must be slow day for everyone, almost 200 views and we need more feedback!

BTW, I didn't realize before, but I see you also replicated an antenna located in near the front windshield.  Very cool. :)

Nice start.
I built one of these back in the late 70's early 80's, the one with walking beam suspension, and it still sits on my shelf.
A nice kit as I remember.

There will be many updates this coming week! The last pieces to this build are showing up Monday or Tuesday! The radio antenna was an after thought. I saw it on his truck and decided I should add it for extra realism lol

It's a very nice build, same with the 4070A. They practically fall together and the detail is really incredible!

I have a couple more of the CO-4070B Transtar II  in my stash and will build another some time, I need the air intake tube/exhaust stack assembly for one of them tho'.
I also bought a coupe of the new tool CO-4070A wich will be on the work bench in the future..

Shoot me a message if you need the intake/exhaust assembly. I may have one spare somewhere around here

Awesome update, Alex!  The printed components look fabulous, but I really like the wheels.

And they look just like the real thing!  ???

Thanks buddy! A friend of mine did those for me, knocked it out of the park for this project!

Here's another quick update. Parts done with paint and drying.

Kudos!  Super clean build, I really like the details you added to make the truck as close as the real thing.

I will say it again, I really like the finish on the wheels!
