Rick Schmidt Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Started this rod tonight to go along with the sedan I'm building also. Started with a Revell Basic Builder 32 attacked the offending fenders and removed them from the frame unit. After the fenders were off I went at the body and frame to channel it. Wasn't that bad basically modify the fire wall and lop off the tail of the frame. Was gonna do another interior but decided I could make the kit part fit Which I did. Cut the floor out then removed the lower seat from the tub. Removed enough of the bottom of the tub to fit the car again and set the seat bottom back in worked perfect and a new floor will fix the ugly. Other than the mods mentioned it will be fairly box stock. Well as box stock as it can be now lol More to come as it progresses
blvd1968 Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Looks awesome so far!!! can't wait to see more!
CB Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Nice stance there Rick, and absolutley love them wheels ! Looks good all black also, whatcha got in mind fer colours?
Dennis Lacy Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Even in this early stage your roadster has a really good look to it. The channel and stance look right-on. Quite a few years ago I did the very same and cut away all the fenders, but did mine as a flathead powered traditional hi-boy. Looking forward to seeing your progress!
Rick Schmidt Posted February 27, 2009 Author Posted February 27, 2009 Thanks guys I'm still tinkerin with it but I think It'll be black Sittin here lookin at the molded black is makin me think it won't look right any other way. Have come up with a new front spreader bar for it I took the headlight assembly Which was gonna need its lights cut off now anyway( no place to put a full bar with no fenders ) got to looking at the remaining bar with its cool little v8 emblem. Well now that bar and cool little emblem is a spreader bar
