gtx6970 Posted Monday at 03:57 PM Posted Monday at 03:57 PM (edited) 3 great builds. Found them doing picture search for the Doc Burgess car So, Gotta ask . Are your sure that car was an auto. I'll have this very build on the bench here REALLY soon Edit, Did some digging and asking people who where there back then. The car was in fact a column shift auto Edited Monday at 10:23 PM by gtx6970
papajohn97 Posted 23 hours ago Author Posted 23 hours ago Thank you Bill (gtx6970)! I got lucky on my build of Grumpy's Black Arrow car and included a column shifter with the automatic. It's tough to find much in the way of interior photos of these old door slammers and so it's usually a WAG as to the interior config./ color. Funny on your timing on pulling up and commenting on my old (2 yrs ago) posting on my Plymouth builds, I just finished a "dry-run" build of the new release Moebius's '65 Dodge AWB A/FX Strick car, it builds as nice as the Plymouths: I have three more of these Dodge AWB kits with the plans to build reproductions of the Landry, Mr. Norm (Gary Dyer), and Harrop cars, ALL AUTOMATIC TORQUEFLITE 727's cars. Unfortunately, Moebius only supplies the manual transmission version of the 426 Hemi in this new Dodge kit. Fortunately I purchased three resin 727's over the last few years that I can graft onto the engines supplied with these AWB Dodges. Strangely, Moebius supplied their AWB A/FX Golden Commando Plymouth kit with hemi blocks with both transmission types and the automatics were much much more common on these AWB Hemi's. Makes me wonder why they didn't include an automatic option on these new Dodge kits??? Looking forward to seeing your two '65 Plymouth A990's come together! cheers, John 1
gtx6970 Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago Thanks for the note I have since found out the Doc Burgess car was in fact column auto, real A990 hemi car White with tan / goldish bucket seat interior. I am a member on a few different face book groups as well as Class racer / Jalopy Journal etc etc . So finding info is " usually" possible but sometimes it takes a while I know the former owner of the Strickler car. He is the one who restored it. Sadly the main chassis / interior tub was beyond repair. So its essentially a rebody ( he has since sold the car ) In regards to these kits. I agree. They are very nice. And I wish they would combine both trans in both versions As 8 out of the original 12 were Auto cars . With the only AFX Dodge to run a 4spd was the Strickler. Landy's car was built 4spd, but campaigned auto Makes it kind tough on us replica drag car builders. I actually just ordered some 3d printed 727s from MAD yesterday as I plan to build all 12 of the original cars,,, Albeit slowly but surely. I have a SM 65 AFX in process right now. Then the 2 A990 SS cars will be next in line Nice work on the Strickler car btw 1

Are they actual 3D printed or resin casting parts or just 3D STL files? Thanks Bill! 1
gtx6970 Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago In all honesty. I think they may just be resin cast Either way they will fit my needs perfectly , especially for the money Mopar 727 Trans & Pan - Morgan Automotive Detail 3D scale parts makes an actual 3d printed version. But doesn't appear to sell it as a seperate item https://www.ebay.com/itm/134525172325 1
papajohn97 Posted 20 hours ago Author Posted 20 hours ago Thanks Bill for the MAD link. Interesting stuff at very reasonable prices. Good to know if I screw up one of the resin 727 engine mods. $4 is amazing these days, I think I paid $10 -$12 for the resin ones I bought a year or two ago. 1

So will post a decent picture in my A990 thread ( when I actually start said A990 builds ) As one of them is slated for the Doc Burgess car The other 2 will be for near future AFX Dodge builds 1
