Had the pleasure of meeting him back in 1981 he was visiting a friend who was my neighbor at the time.

Seemed like a great guy.

Shame. Another one of my favs from the Band. These guy not only sounded unique, the even looked they were from a different era.

One of my favorite all time bands. From backing Ronnie Hawkins, then known as The Hawks, to backing Bob Dylan and then coming into their own, they were superb musicians. Robbie was also a great song writer. The Weight, and The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down, to name but two. I was lucky to have seen them during there Last Waltz tour. Garth Hudson is still alive, he turned 86 at the start of the month.
