This is my favorite Porsche and would like to build a scale model of the one Brian Redman and Jo Siffert drove in the 1970 Targo Florio...

1970_Porsche_9083Spyder2-vi.jpg

"Model Racing Replica" magazine had an article which used a "LMP of Japan" kit to build this model

Have had no luck on locating such company or a 1/24th, 1/25th, 1/20th or 1/12th kit of this car

plenty of 1/32nd slot car bodies available, but not what I'm lookin' for...

So does anyone out there have information on a kit for this car and where one can locate it.

Prefer plastic, but I am not afraid of resin, thanx

It's actually Targa Florio.

The only kit I know of is a Provence Moulage 1/43 scale resin kit. You might be able to modify a 908 coupe.

There was once upon a time a VMC 71 Martini 908/3 1/24.

I've got a chunk of pine that you could build this one from.

It wouldn't take too much carvin' to make it look right. :P

And, the way race cars were painted back in those days, it wouldn't take to much work to get that old hunk of pine ready for piant. :o

Yes, I'm having too much fun.

Hi There Curt

There was a 1/24 Kit of the 908/3 made! And it looked just like this:

I've also been looking for one because one also ran in the CanAm and broke the McLaren winning Streak.

Happy Hunting.

Ed Erbeck Jr.

Holy Smokes...I forgot that Mike Quarterman (UMi modelwerke) had done this kit. Next time I see Mike I'll have to see if he has any lurking in his basement.

as a side note, Porsche made him stop producing all of his Porsche kits a long time ago

thanx
