absmiami Posted October 21, 2023 Author Posted October 21, 2023 The rear facing caps are drilled for tach line hardware … gotta re-visit the dash - there should be two tachs …
Pierre Rivard Posted October 22, 2023 Posted October 22, 2023 This keeps getting better! Are you making two of these...one for you...one for me?
Rattlecan Dan Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 More pics for my Don Lee Spl. folder. You're doing incredible work sir. To quote a line from Field of Dreams movie "You're seeing a whole team of Psychiatrists aren't you."

absmiami Posted October 24, 2023 Author Posted October 24, 2023 This is also fr the Jim Stokes F book page - reiminding me that i need to make a ring of bolt holes on the back of the block where the trans is attached -
absmiami Posted October 24, 2023 Author Posted October 24, 2023 And the trans casing is finished differently - appears to be fl black - so i decided to hack it off with a fine razor saw ….
absmiami Posted October 24, 2023 Author Posted October 24, 2023 Made an .015 plastic disc to replace the resin removed in surgery - and threw on a fly wheel - discarded spare watch gear - for laughs - this will have to go when the trans is glued to the block -
absmiami Posted October 24, 2023 Author Posted October 24, 2023 And the bolt holes in both parts - probably will use .06 Master Club bolts … 1
Rattlecan Dan Posted October 24, 2023 Posted October 24, 2023 You've gone way out there. Starting to get worried about ya' now.
absmiami Posted October 24, 2023 Author Posted October 24, 2023 Should i add the clutch and the trans gears ??
Rattlecan Dan Posted October 24, 2023 Posted October 24, 2023 No! Stop it! Get back to what we will be seeing. Lol.
Pierre Rivard Posted October 25, 2023 Posted October 25, 2023 Yes, yes, hollow that bell housing, go for it. A functioning clutch mechanism would be nice. Give Francois a bit of competition.
absmiami Posted October 25, 2023 Author Posted October 25, 2023 Framcois seems to have much too much spare time - do you think he would draw and print the gear set for me? Ill hollow out the case if he’ll make my gears ! In my scale, of course - by the way - who’s gonna take his massage amount of research and tear apart a 24th scale Bentley Blower ?

absmiami Posted October 27, 2023 Author Posted October 27, 2023 Just read Dutch builder Pouln’s 1/4 scale alfa 8c engine build on the Britmodeler forum - I am …. .. … sad ….
Pierre Rivard Posted October 27, 2023 Posted October 27, 2023 Don't be sad Andy. Pouln's work is a wonderful display of CAD design and 3D printing expertise. Very much an engineering approach to model building. I think it is extraordinary, if a bit clinical. The work you are doing at the comparably tiny 1/24 scale is a more artistic display of multi-material fabrication. In other words scratch building extraordinaire. Keep doing it your way so that us mere mortals can enjoy watching your creativity. This first consultation is free of charge. Dr Pierre
Rattlecan Dan Posted October 28, 2023 Posted October 28, 2023 Don't go down that rabbit hole. He's trying to get you to buy the book " Rivard's Regards ".

absmiami Posted October 30, 2023 Author Posted October 30, 2023 The correct color for an engine that was made over eighty years ago and raced or used almost every year since is always hard to figure - mixing about two parts light gun metal to one part mica silver - this is what i came up with ….
