TransAmMike Posted November 11, 2023 Posted November 11, 2023 (edited) I'm guessing this is a new line of paint. Anyone try it? Large variety of colors. Edited November 11, 2023 by TransAmMike
TransAmMike Posted November 16, 2023 Author Posted November 16, 2023 Well, I guess no one had tried it yet?
vekasiini Posted January 8 Posted January 8 I ordered these paints, but I haven't been able to test them. Does anyone have experience and tips with them.
jaymcminn Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Justin Porter used the Ammo Cobra paint on his Alfa GTA. Looks like it came out nicely for him. I think he has more on the application in the WIP thread.
Justin Porter Posted January 10 Posted January 10 The Cobra Motors paints are VERY easy to use. They're a water based acrylic but you can thin them with Mr Leveling Thinner. So far, I've tried the Dark British Racing Green and the 50's-60's Rosso Corsa and both were ready to spray through a .5mm needle airbrush at 18psi. Great coverage, self leveling, and didn't need any color sanding before clear coat. Both the Alfa and my Austin Healey Sprite had Gunze GX102 UV Cut Clear Gloss over the Cobra Motors paint with no issue. I've also used the Cobra Motors 2K Clear over some MCW lacquer and was hugely impressed with the results.
