Holeinthehead2 Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 Looking for tips/suggestions/warnings on chopping tops. Model is a Citroen S 90 that I’m thinking of turning into a pro street car.

stitchdup Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 You could drop it down by removing the height you want from the middle pillar, then use a template of the drip rail edge to find the front and rear pillar cuts. the front and middle pillar i would cut close to the top but the rear i would cut below the top curve of the rear screen. You have a choice of how to proceed from here. If you wanted to lean the front pillars back you might get away with not cutting the roof, but if you want the pillars at the current angle you would need to quarter the roof and add some filler pieces to the gaps. Leaning the pillars front and rear would avoid quartering the roof but would possibly make the citroen look more like a belly tank racer than a car if you take too much out. If you go with the quartering the roof method you might be able to cut down the kit glass but the other would need new glass. 1
Fat Brian Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 What I've done is find tape the width of the amount I want to chop and wrap each pillar with tape to mark where and how much to cut. That looks like it will be a difficult job without stretching the roof a bit. 1
