Motor City Posted December 17, 2023 Posted December 17, 2023 I bought the real car in 2000, black with a light tan interior. The Sun Star model came in black with a black interior. Now Sun Star makes a blue version with the correct tan interior. I emailed the company to see about buying just an interior but never got a reply. I've searched eBay but all of the new ones seem to cost around $100 including shipping from Europe. Are there any large diecast dealers that sell parts cars to restore models? Thanks.
Ace-Garageguy Posted December 17, 2023 Posted December 17, 2023 (edited) SEM makes coatings to dye real-car interiors in both aerosols and by the quart. They work great on model parts too. They cover well, and I know for a fact (from personal experience) the lighter colors will cover black completely. Edited December 17, 2023 by Ace-Garageguy 1

If you search eBay for the diecast you're looking for, not too specifically, like "1/18 Monte Carlo SS", eventually you'll get a hit on either a really cheap one, or one that's damaged and going for parts. EDIT: I know you already have black, but just as an example, there's a black one going for parts right now, starting bid $30 plus shipping. I kinda doubt it'll move real fast.
