Paul Fisher Posted February 19, 2024 Posted February 19, 2024 Looking to find the decal sheet for an old Bill Jorgensen resin kit of the Parnelli VPJ1 Indy car from 1972...I was the one with the weird 45 degree wings stuck on the sides. I have a tub, and a partial decal missing the rest of the kit which I will scratch build.Made the tires today! Anyway, if you have the decal left over or even the whole kit let me know, and thank you! Paul Fisher, dipping his toe back into Indy Cars!
iBorg Posted February 19, 2024 Posted February 19, 2024 Two part question. Have you tried Indycals. Two, are you the Paul Fisher of casting fame?
Paul Fisher Posted February 19, 2024 Author Posted February 19, 2024 Yes indeed, I have looked at every sheet on the Indycals site and none of them have the stuff I need, even the Viceroy lettering they do have is not quite the right size for the VPJ1.I have a bunch of their stuff, it's beautifully done but no magic bullet there unfortunately.I keep going to their site every other day hoping their 3D printed Gurney Eagle kits will be up for sale, I'm dying to try one but so far no joy. And yes, I am that Paul Fisher, who used to create and cast a lot of models, nice to meet you! Paul
Big John Posted April 28, 2024 Posted April 28, 2024 Off subject but, Thank you Sir for your fine work, and our sympathies for your loss in the fires. Perhaps Indycals can scale up the files you need, I hear they do custom work besides their stock line.
Paul Fisher Posted April 28, 2024 Author Posted April 28, 2024 Hi John, Thanks so much for your kindness, amazingly enough my old friend and long time decal artist Michael Quarterman did the original decals for that Kit and though he has passed on his wife had a large box of stuff Mike had kept as samples and a friend of mine was kind enough to go through it an he found me two complete sheets so I will be able to do both the Samsonite car as well as the Viceroy car.Luck was with me on that one! I have made up wheels and tires and a wing as well as most of the other parts that were missing so I am almost ready to get cracking .Again, thanks for the note, Paul
