I 've just looked over some of my latest builds and I realize now that they are all from fairly recent issues. Mold lines aren't bad, sink marks/injection pin marks are decent and flash is pretty much a non-issue. But man.........I'm in for it now. I'm starting a Monogram 40 Ford Pick-up from 1985. There seems to be more flash than actual parts. Huge injection pin marks everywhere! Gentlemen I'm here to tell ya, the good old days of modelling are right now.

I see the newer kits as being better planned out so you don't have the problems you describe. Of course the molds are crisp and clean. I like the chrome trees where some thought was given to where the part breaks off the tree, so it won't show when the part is installed.

I cringe when people get excited about re-releases being brought back from the dead. It is a mixed blessing, nice to have the kit again, but oh that horrific flash and parts that have fit issues.
