Kent_Frazier Posted May 3, 2024 Posted May 3, 2024 Based on these kits I've purchased the last week I think I'm beginning to see a trend: Revell '66 Malibu SS (black plastic) Revell '66 Chevrolet Malibu SS 2n1 (White plastic) AMT 1966 Chevy Nova Pro Street (blue plastic) In one YouTube build video I watched on the black Malibu the builder said he was building a "street outlaw", and I have no idea what that might mean. I believe "Pro Street" refers to drag racing, but I don't know how. How would you define a general category for the above models?
RichCostello Posted May 3, 2024 Posted May 3, 2024 "Pro Stock" refers to drag racing, "Pro Street" is a street legal car that looks like it could be a drag car, usually tubbed with huge wheels/tires on the rear, and many times a blower, injector tubes, or a high rise intake with a couple big carbs sticking through the hood. The models you listed are "Pro Streets".
Kent_Frazier Posted May 3, 2024 Author Posted May 3, 2024 Thank you. So it would seem I’m being drawn to “Pro Streets”. Time to do some research.
milo1303s Posted May 6, 2024 Posted May 6, 2024 The 66 Malibu is not a pro street more of a street freak with the straight axel front and lifted suspension !! 1
bobss396 Posted May 9, 2024 Posted May 9, 2024 I'm in and out of a pro street binge myself as of late. I have the AMT Nova and Chevelle kits going now. I have some work into the Revell '66 Chevelle flip nose one too. 1
