  1. FWIW, as a new member here I don't mind the moderation. Thank you to the moderators for the time they put into this.
  2. Thank you. So it would seem I’m being drawn to “Pro Streets”. Time to do some research.
  3. Based on these kits I've purchased the last week I think I'm beginning to see a trend: Revell '66 Malibu SS (black plastic) Revell '66 Chevrolet Malibu SS 2n1 (White plastic) AMT 1966 Chevy Nova Pro Street (blue plastic) In one YouTube build video I watched on the black Malibu the builder said he was building a "street outlaw", and I have no idea what that might mean. I believe "Pro Street" refers to drag racing, but I don't know how. How would you define a general category for the above models?
  4. Nice work. A Super Bee is on my wish list.
  5. I am really enjoying following you on this build. It is giving me some inspiration for my 1981 Camaro Z28.
  6. Spray foam? This might be too much for someone just getting back into the hobby, but it is giving me lots of ideas.
  7. I'm not sure. I seem to remember the ones in the magazine were fiberglass add-ons and it was a street car, not a racer.
  8. Here is the image I mentioned in my OP. The end closest to the door on the front quarter panel is what I meant by "flat". In the magazine, the rear quarter panels were similar and then blended to the rear.
  9. I bought this kit because I owned a 1:1 1980 Z28 and was excited to build my former car. After reading the review on this site and opening the box and looking at the parts I am very disappointed. I've now decided to use this as a platform to learn new things. I remember seeing an article in a car magazine about a custom 1980 Z28 with a whale tail and extended quarter panels. These modifications have always stuck with me, but I've been unable to find any photos of this car online. What I remember is that the quarter panels were "flat" around the doors, not blended back into the body and the rear ones housed an oil and transmission fluid cooler. They extended out several inches from the stock body. I know I'm not describing this very well, but I can see it in my head. How would I go about building something like this? I'm guessing some styrene sheets and putty, but I don't know if there might be a better way. I did manage to find one photograph of a car that looks similar but I'm not sure what the rules are about posting/ linking photos from other sites. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  10. I'm a new member here with some questions regarding your mold photos. The mold has three "indentations" and one has Sharpie marks. Is this to allow you to cast three distributors at a time? What are the Sharpie marks for? Any recommended source for distributors to make the mold? Thanks, Kent
  11. Hello everyone, I decided to get back into the hobby after seeing a post on Facebook with a photo of the 1:1 Red Baron car with some history about the car. I remember that being one of my favorite models when I was younger. I quit the hobby in high school (I graduated in 1977). I recently purchased three kits; the Monogram '66 Malibu SS - Black (open box with some parts painted), the new Revell '66 Malibu SS 2n1, and the Revell 1981 Camaro Z28. I had a 1980 Z28, so I plan to build this like the one I owned.
