LAone Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 This is the last one of my finished builds since the last time I was here. all the WIP pics are on my IG page if anyone is on there and would like to see them. @oniworks who knows maybe I can make a single post on about them. lmk what y'all think. there's a couple of old posts that I have on here that i can update...we'll see. This was built for a Facebook group build, but it didn't finish it on time. this time around I wanted that clean but yet still rusty cruiser It's an Aoshima kit, their last reissue of it. I used SSR Star Bright wheels. made the front spoiler from a thick piece of styrene sheet and a pea shooter exhaust. I used the stock seats but deleted the rears by putting some flat sheet covered in BMF flat aluminum. on the passenger seat there's a traffic light stick, ash tray cup and a steering wheel that comes with Kaido Racer type parts which if I recall it from the 'Works" or grand champ kits. I made the roll bar as well and my wink mirror. also added a headliner that I make with masking tape, along with the sides as well. the front grill was also messed with. for some reason it doesn't have the chrome trim that goes around the edge, so I added thin styrene strip and foiled it with BMF. the grill was pushed back further than stock and the head lamp bezels were cut shorter as they don't look correct compared to the 1:1. the white paint is from Tamiya X-2 shot from an airbrush over some Tamiya X-9 brown that was blotched on with a foam chunk. I wet sanded the white away to expose the brown underneath. this time around I used AMMO pigments and washes to get the rusted affect. this was a fun and quickish build. a major slump buster for me and the beginning of my rust type builds. thanks for hanging in as I play catch up. 5

XYHARRY Posted June 5, 2024 Posted June 5, 2024 I like how you rusted the area of the quarter panel where the Laurel badge would be. Well done Luis. Cheers, David. ?? 1
shoopdog Posted June 5, 2024 Posted June 5, 2024 Very nicely done. I built this same kit but showroom clean. 1
