rick6343 Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 It's been nearly a year and a half, but I've finally finished something. Please pardon the photography! I'll take some better shots in the next couple of days. The kit is Revell's '68 Corvette L-88. Paint is Testor's Sterling Silver lacquer, cleared with Future. I added selected pieces from the Model Car Garage photoetched set for this car-they worked out great, except for the hood badges... I wanted to avoid the nosebleed ride height of the car with the box stock tires, so I ended up adapting some of the Revell-Monogram Michelin TRXs with some parts box wheel backs. I know they're not accurate, but I think it looks better. Thanks for looking!
vizio93 Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 that's sweet lookin' ive got one of those, but don't know if I want to use the L-88 hood or have the huge blower coming out the hood! anyway nice build
RJWood Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 Nice job on the Vette. Looks good in that color. Can you post more pics? would like to see more of this.
rick6343 Posted April 6, 2009 Author Posted April 6, 2009 Thanks for the kind words! I'd be happy to post more pics; unfortunately I won't have access to my camera for a couple more weeks. Watch this space, though, I'll get more up.
samm1970 Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 Nice looking Vette.I've always thought that body style Stingray was one of the sharpest cars ever to come from General Motors.Hard to go wrong w/ a silver Stingray, nice job.
cruz Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 One of my favorite year corvettes, nice job, color fits it nice too!!
rick6343 Posted April 26, 2009 Author Posted April 26, 2009 As promised, my camera returned home and I have some more photos.
CEKPETHO BCE Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Loving the color scheme. I think Ima build mine like that
LOBBS Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Great work on the Vette!! The early C3s ('68s and '69s) have always been my favorite. Love the red interior! I went with red on my forever-on-the-bench pro-touring '69 Vette.
deathskull59 Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 nice vette ah i do rember that i used to have 3 corvette models. 1 a 53 vett 2 a 57 gasser vette the red one by mpc and 3 the snap tite 65or66 vette. it has big turq thrust all of em destroyed by my sister.
redknight Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 That came out GREAT!! You got the ride height accurate, too. One of the best bodystyles of Corvettes... at least until they lost the chrome bumpers.
