Jürgen M. Posted July 11, 2024 Author Posted July 11, 2024 I chose to paint the bumper steel grey. Black looked OK but it matches the grille which makes the whole impression more conclusive. Still needs weathering and some rust. 2
Jürgen M. Posted July 12, 2024 Author Posted July 12, 2024 I installed the lubricator, washing liquid and brake fluid. Can't say If they're designed and placed correctly since I didn't find any pics from the front with open hood but I'd say it looks ok! Still stuff to do. Air lines, licence plates, decals, ... ...weathering, ... 1
Jürgen M. Posted July 12, 2024 Author Posted July 12, 2024 Almost finished! Decals have to be printed, some more weathering and then it should be OK! 1 1
Jürgen M. Posted July 12, 2024 Author Posted July 12, 2024 Thanks! I wanted to do something that's not an everyday thing! Decals will be printed this weekend!
gotnitro? Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 Fantastic work Enjoy seeing what ideas you have going, and your skills printing them
Jürgen M. Posted July 13, 2024 Author Posted July 13, 2024 Thanks! I really appreciate your feedback! It's fun building trucks that aren't available as model kits. After this one I'll have to make more room otherwise I don't know where to put them anymore! Means my next project won't be a truck model but a showcase! ? 1
Jürgen M. Posted July 13, 2024 Author Posted July 13, 2024 (edited) OK, except for the decals on the doors, which I haven't designed yet, I'd say it's just about finished! As soon as I've decided what corporate design it will get I will present it in "Under Glass"! Thanks again for following and your positive feedback! ?? P.S.: I'm already thinking about a trailer with load. More to that later! Edited July 13, 2024 by Jürgen M. 1

Thanks so much Juergen - the build is looking great. I want to know how difficult it is to edit 3D files. As an example - there are many good tire files but they usually have no sidewall detail - and I want to add that. Could I edit them to add manufacturer logos and the usual information on 1:1 sidewalls?
Jürgen M. Posted July 13, 2024 Author Posted July 13, 2024 (edited) Thanks Bren. About the editing of 3D files, that depends on the file type and the 3D design software you're using. I myself have tried to edit downloaded files. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't! You have to transform the file into a compatible type! I'll make a few screenshots for you and post them tomorrow, OK? I'd be happy to help! ? Edited July 13, 2024 by Jürgen M.
Jürgen M. Posted July 14, 2024 Author Posted July 14, 2024 Hey Bren, sorry it took so long but we had our family day today! I can´t tell you too much about editing downloaded 3D files but I´ll try to show you my possibilities: I´m using Autodesk Fusion 360 for designing which is an easy to handle programme. The files that can be edited in Fusion are .stl or .obj files. Once you´ve downloaded it onto your computer you can load it into fusion and you´ll see it as a sort of mesh surfaced 3D picture. My example is the Duck on the hood of Rubber Duck´s Mack (Convoy). It seems big in here but I reduced it in scale to match the size needed for a 1/25 scale. Anyway, once loaded onto the programme´s surface you have to transform it into an editable file. My language is German, sorry, but I hope I can make the point. The menu to choose is mesh (I think that´s what it´s named in English). Then you go down and choose "convert mesh" (hope that´s the correct translation) and then you click on the object and click OK! Depending on how big or complex your object is it may take a while til it´s finished. As soon as the object appears again, maybe in a different color, you should be able to edit it! Could be that you won´t have all editing functions, depending on the structure of your object and which software you´re using. That´s about all the experience I have on this so I hope it was of any help to you! This duck was the first and up to now the only file I had downloaded. Everything else was self designed. Good luck! Hope it works for you! ?
