so i thought go second route and convert a hard top to convertable , but can only find

The '67 might be your better bet---although all three years had some unique sheetmetal so there's gonna be some cutting and shaping no matter what. That was back in the days when there were REAL annual model year changes, not just a different color or grille pattern. B)

The '67 and '68's shared windshield frames so you've got that part covered at least.

There are resin '68 Galaxies out there (R&R) but you've got that fastback roof and different trunk and tulip panel to deal with. :)

There are lot's of differences between 67, 68 and not so much more between 68 and 69. (still enough to notice)

I don't want to spend hours trying to find all the specifics and photos haha....but here are all 3 cars to compare...

Notice the back window of the '68 and grilles etc...much to be different. You can buy a resin '68 from

Star Models...but if you want a plastic one, I might have one here. ;-)

All 3 years are different enough to make trying to convert one to the other a TRUELY difficult task. If you change the fastback 68 into a convert, you'll hafta change EVERYTHING from the A-pillars back to the rear bumper! That's ALOT of work! I'd just stick with the EVIL bay till one comes up. They do come up every now an then.Or you could look in the E-Bay built section.

only prob is...they never made a '68 convertible kit.
