Michael Orzolick Posted July 4, 2024 Posted July 4, 2024 I had the Honor to Meet Wild Willie Borsch last Sunday of June 1972 at Niagara Dragstrip and Wild Willie offered to take me on tour with him and Mike Boyd They gave Me my only ride home from Niagara Dragstrip that Day, I always walked the 14 mile round trip from My house to Niagara Dragstrip from August 1968 to August 1973 . My Dad wouldn’t give Me permission to go on tour with them , but the Winged Express AA/FA was in trailer in front of My House that I still own and live in today. I was 17 years old back then and I’m 69 years old now. My parents left me the house after they passed away. Rest In Peace to All three Wild Willie, Mouse, and Mike Boyd. I had the Pleasure to Meet Two of them many years ago 2
Mark Posted July 4, 2024 Posted July 4, 2024 50th anniversary of Niagara's final season (1974). I understand much of the actual track is still there, though both ends have been dug up and all of the buildings are long gone. I was there only once, in 1973. My older brother was racing a '66 Chevelle in Modified Production at the time.
OldNYJim Posted July 5, 2024 Posted July 5, 2024 The Winged Express was my favorite of the fuel altereds - I’m going to do a replica of it someday I think…would have loved to have seen it in person!
bobss396 Posted July 5, 2024 Posted July 5, 2024 I got to rub elbows with some giants of NASCSAR, Winston Cup and pavement modifieds. I did travel briefly with a BGN team and did chassis set up with them. 1
