Falcon Ranchero Posted July 4, 2024 Posted July 4, 2024 This is an original Monogram 1966 re-issue of the 1958 Thunderbird kit. Picked this one up at our local vintage junk shop. I did NOT paint the body, it was molded in that beautiful gloss black already. This is the last kit to-date (the next kit in line is a '53 Stude, look out for it in a couple weeks) It has opening doors, but while fitting the driver's door in, I broke the hinge, but I was able to successfully re-glue it and it does open, though to demonstrate the opening, I use the passenger door. Completed June 13th, 2024, I used wire-spoke rims that came with my Chevy ramp truck kit (wierd) but I had to sand down the back of each rim because they were too wide to fit in the tires. The license plate on the rear is the original decal, and yes I did dip it into the water to apply it. Went on like new. 4
Tim W. SoCal Posted July 4, 2024 Posted July 4, 2024 Another bitchen build, Nathan!... Looks GREAT with the wire wheels. Since you're so good at your detailing, you may want to check into Molotow Chrome Pens. https://www.molotow.com/en/applications/marker-applications/liquid-chrome 1

Definitely will consider finding these to use in future builds. A marker seems more steady than a brush, and looking at the examples on the website there, they're pretty dang good! 1
XYHARRY Posted July 7, 2024 Posted July 7, 2024 Very nice, and unpainted. Well done Nathan and I look forward to seeing how your Studebaker turns out. Cheers, David. ?? 1

I plan on showcasing the progress on the “On the Workbench” forum there so maybe in a week or two if you check there I’ll have started it? 1
