Has anyone discovered what kit chassis and drive line would make the best drag racing set up for AMT 1964 Malibu? I am building a Dick Harrell and a Tom Strum but not sure what would be best for chassis/drivetrain. I know one of you has good ideas. Thank you all. Larry

The Revell Z-16 kit is the first one that springs to mind. AMT is bringing back their stock 67 Chevelle, that might be a good starting point. The ex Lindberg 66 Chevelle might be worth looking at as well. Without having the kit in hand these are just guesses of what should fit.

Should be a bunch of them.

Any GM A-body should make an acceptable donor.

That would include the Revell 1965 or '67 Chevelle, Lindberg '66 Chevelle, AMT 1966 and Lindberg '67 Olds 442, Revell 1966 Pontiac GTO, or possibly any number of the more recent Revell late '60s Chevelles or early 70s 442s, as well as the MPC '69 442.

Some of these might fit better than others, or represent the '64 Chevelle better than some, but there should be a lot of options to investigate.

I'm using the Revell '66 GTO chassis under my '64 Lemans.

For the excellent Revell '65 chassis to fit, first remove the upper front wheel well tops, then make a cut to shorten the pan, only by a fraction of an inch, the cut is almost enough itself, just some light sanding before the parts are re-joined.

Mine is not a drag car, but here's how it turned out.
