Old Albion Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 James, This is a superb standard of workmanship. Very impressive! I like the dash details and the colour. Its nice to see an every day work truck, much prefer them to show trucks. Keep us posted on progress! Best Wishes Dave
lonewolf Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 James, For your first truck build, it looks like you're off to a great start. Keep us posted.
Ben Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 Hey James, your doing an awesome job!!!!!!!! Can't wait to see more!!!!!!
Wildrice Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 If it turns out like the rest of your builds it will be great. Awesome work as usual.
ABC Auto Industry Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Nice work! Coincidentally, the first rig I ever built was a Titan. It was 2 years before they re-issued it.
JTRACING Posted April 15, 2009 Author Posted April 15, 2009 (edited) chassis painted. next I'll spray dullcote on the chassis and tires. then add some washes and pastel chalks . the wipers are from my parts box. I added real rubber blades to bit of work on the exhaust the stack . i added aluminum to the top part. also added clamps so they line up with the brackets on the air snorkel thing. gotta pick up some plastic tube so i can make the cross over pipe, i wanna run it on top of the tranny not under the frame like the kit part. studioman3 Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 James, Awsome work so far, your painting and weathering technique is very realistic. I am curious how you got the black into the cracks around the doors and hinges, its very believable. Nice Job Tim
JTRACING Posted April 16, 2009 Author Posted April 16, 2009 starting to add some weathering on the frame James, Awsome work so far, your painting and weathering technique is very realistic. I am curious how you got the black into the cracks around the doors and hinges, its very believable. Nice Job Tim thanks its real simple!, i just use cheap acrylic craft paint from the dollar store. simply brush on, let it fully dry then use a damp cloth and wipe off any paint that got on the body panels.
Old Albion Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 James, Very impressive the weathering looks great! Best Wishes Dave
JTRACING Posted April 19, 2009 Author Posted April 19, 2009 got the drivers side mirror and grab rail on. also thought id build up the "model box" that's included in the kit
mardtrp Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 OK James, question time, the weathering you have done to this model, any chance of some information on what products you've used and how you've applied it, ALL the gory details, please . The reasons that I'm asking for this information, is that IS a very realistic look you have achieved with what you 've done to it. So a big pat on the back for you with that lot, well done, now, ALL the details, please.

Kostas Parchas Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Hi James, Your truck is very nice. I really like brand new trucks or just ''cleaned'' but your weathering looks very realistic!!! I do prefer conventional not COE 's, as you may know here in Europe all the trucks are COE 's and the eye is bored to see again and again COE 's. waiting your next truck... Kostas.
Hondo Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 JT, That's flat outstanding......... Great photos also. Looks very real. Impressive work !! Hondo
