Renault Megane

This is a kit to get me out of my building slump. Picked this up at the NNL West this past year. I like the paint scheme on it. That was the reason I picked it up. Very simple two-toned color. It reminded me of the Honda Spoon tuned cars.

The kit is not a particularly good kit for a race car. It has a stock interior and wheels are too big for the car. Makes the ride height look funny and it can't be modified to have the wheels fit the wheel wells. Decals were terrible as I kind of expected. But I think it turned out okay. Body is TS-16 (yellow) and TS-44 (blue). Feel free to comment.

the kit is from FUJIMI.

i have the espana look kit number 12530. it is a stock car with rally decals. it says right on the box, "this model kit is not a rally car". that is why it has a stock interior.

i bought it to make a cool tuner car out of it, someday.

The kit is a Fujimi kit. The body of the car is nice, but the interior is just awful. It's like most of the Fujimi kits of that time when they took the street car and converted it over to a race car. For $10, it was worth it. I didn't look at the box too carefully. I just thought it had a neat paint scheme so I picked it up.

Edit: This was a kit that if I made mistakes on, I wasn't going to bother to fix them. I just wanted to get something built since I haven't done anything since before the NNL West of this year.

OOPS! i messed up Brendon. i forgot to tell you how good your Megane looked. i too, like the color scheme. mine would be all yellow if built box stock.

yes, you are correct. the body is nice and that is all intend to use.

this car was made as a tribute to the Renault maxi megane kit car

rally car was never officially used in WRC but it was very successful in local rally championships

Polish rally champion Janusz Kulig won Polish championship in 97

now maxi megane is a FWD car non turbo 2.0l engine putting down 280hp

98 spec car took a 2nd overall

If it's the same guy I'm thinking of, they're really nice kits. I've only seen a couple of them built.

I'm working on a Mitsubishi Pajero (Paris-Le-Cap Winner) which I should have done in about a week or so. I'm sort of on a rally car fix right now.
