Ok, well I didn't know it was a widespread thing! My real-life Jeep Comanche does that, because the body tapers in towards the front. Fully stock, you don't notice it because the wheels are burried deep the wheel wells, but when you add fatter tires and the fronts are flush with the fender flares while the rears still are a bit set in, it's annoying!!! I thought it was isolated to my particular brand and model of truck though. But I guess it showcases the level of accuracy Moebius puts in their kits!!!
mk11 Posted May 24 Posted May 24 Not necessarily. On the F100 4x4s, the rear track was 4" narrower than the front( same as the 2wd) as they used the '57-'72 9" diff. The F250 4x4s used the dana 60 full floating axle for the rear which matched the front track. Ford corrected the track difference on the 100/150 in '73 by using a 4" wider 9" diff.

All I had to go by were pictures of actual trucks. I searched but couldn’t find any front or rear axle width specs.

And BTW, is it an optical illusion, or the front wheels are sticking out past the fenders way more than the rears? I widened the steel wheels on the stock F250 plow truck and substituted the tires from the lifted truck kit. This looks absolutely perfect to me. 4

If I got it right, it's the plow truck with widened steelies, on the lifted truck's tires? It does look pretty good!!!

This is indeed the plow truck with the widened steelies and the lifted kit tires. Let me know if anyone would like to know how I did it. Edited Saturday at 01:22 AM by Radretireddad 1

Just to be sure I’m understanding you, the tires in the lifted kit are too small for that kit but I’m suggesting they’re a great upgrade for the stock plow truck kit. If you want to put larger tires on the lifted kit, you only need to find some that fit over the kits chrome wheels. The ones I used on my lifted kit are an old set from American Satco which is no longer in business. Mr Mopar has kindly offered some alternatives from other off the shelf kits. Your only other source is going to be 3D printed. What I’m offering is to show how I widened the steel wheels on the stock plow truck and fitted the tires from the lifted kit. Is that what you want to see? Edited Saturday at 04:17 PM by Radretireddad 1
