arby1949 Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Finally completed. Box stock except for wire wheels, Firestone tires and dual exhaust tips. One of my most enjoyable builds. Color is orange pearl over a gold base and something I mixed up to give a pinkish orange hue for contrast. Enjoy.
Foxer Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Very good looking! Great job on the photos AND the build. That paint is the final touch ... looks fantastic!
fordh8r Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 The build looks greta and the color choice is just right! I probably would have chose to use the stock wheels with this color choice, but that's just me.
FujimiLover Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 (edited) What white did you use for the white portion of the body? It look's nice! Did you use the same color fot the interior, or a flatter color or what? Edited April 15, 2009 by FujimiLover
george 53 Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 VERY NICE. Great choice of colors, looks factory, but...... Anyway, GREAT BUILD.Hope it came out as smooth as you wanted it to,caz it sure looks GOOD to me!
arby1949 Posted April 15, 2009 Author Posted April 15, 2009 (edited) I appreciate all the comments from you guys. To answer the question about the color; for the light paint, I started with gloss white and sparingly added a little red and yellow until I got the "orange" shade I wanted. The folded top was painted with Krylon Ivory Satin, as well as the seatback tops and the armrests on the doors. All this was then sprayed with Testors Dullcoat. My progress photos are in the "on the workbench" forum, under '55 chevy convertible" Thanks. Edited April 15, 2009 by arby1949
