Doing a little research and found this picture, this is what I want to do to the front bumper and trim fenders. IMG_2288.jpeg.5b211c07dbbe329fdf0c2ca99c515e03.jpeg

Those look like a close match to the Diamond Reo fenders.

Bumpers are easy to make with styrene, truck frames or plastic channel

Niiiiceee !! What did you use , Gary? The Revell spray by any chance?

Yes sir, the Revell over dark gray primer. Seems a darker based makes the chrome pop more. Getting very similar results as spraying over black but reducing on step to the finish by using dark gray primer and skipping the second layer of black.

Does it become a ‘no touch’ item after the application? I have to ask silly questions because up here a can is $40! Which to me is a trifle pricey …

It doesn’t, that what I like about it. The Molotow chrome will smudge when touched, that drives me nuts.

Thanks, Gary thats good to know. A can of it up here is more than $40 ! So it kind of becomes an issue about economics to a degree

Designing a light bar for the rear with a lip to hang mud flaps. Will be using some PE lights for this truck. will have a chrome diamond plate frame walk way to the headache rack.

I just gave 38 bucks each for two cans. I used it on my beer truck grill and it work outstanding. The wheels on this truck where also sprayed with Revell chrome and I handled them a lot getting tires on and no marks.

Your grille really does pop - must have spent lots of time and care prepping it, because chrome spray of any kind sure shows any imperfections and it turned out flawless!  Going to have to try some on mine.

It does require a lot of prep and clean hands.

I used the Revell chrome spray a lot recently and you do have to let it cure for quite a long time to be sure not to get any fingerprints on it. Luckily I had enough space to hold the parts and handle them but the trailer tank of my Pete seemed dry and I did get a print on it!

After a week or so it's OK. Maybe you have to cure it in a very warm and dry place.

That's my experience. Still I wouldn't want to miss it. It just looks cool.

Did you do anything special to cure it, Gary?

Wow your grill looks fantastic! I was going to assume Alclad, based on the great chrome sheen. Love the red color on the fenders too..care to share what that is??

Keep up the great work

Tamiya TS-39 Red Mica, 5 coats over dark gray primer. Kinda has a candy look to it.
