Pete68 Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 (edited) I bought this one off of Sleezebay a couple years ago thought I would put it on the bench and get to work on it. It is missing a few parts but I’ll replace them. This Monogram Kenworth Aerodyne sleeper is way off. The windows are to big and makes the sleeper look too tall. I’m going to build it anyway to join the other Shelf Queens on my 1/32 shelf. There was no box so the pics of the box is for reference only. I’m also including a pic of what inspired me to build this one but not the same color blue as the one in the pic. Hope you join along for the build. Edited December 3, 2024 by Pete68 4
stavanzer Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 Cool. Can't wait to see what you do with it. 2
Blue Monday Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 This will be interesting. It’s a shame the sleeper shape is not accurate but even with that minor flaw, it still looks like a fine kit. I’m looking forward to seeing this being built. Enjoy it!👍 BM. 2

Rockford Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 You're right on the proportions being off, the cab windows too are just too big. Shame. It still looks good though. Haven't seen one of these for sale for a long time. Looking forward to seeing it done mate. I think the picture you added was from Overdrive when they did an extended review of the Aerodyne. I read that article recently on Fotki. Beautiful truck and a fantastic idea. 2

Glad to have you riding along. Good on keeping it original - my temptation would be to strong to resist sawing that sleeper off I think you guys have cornered the 1/32 truck market on this forum... 1

Steve and I are trying too 😂 there’s one more out there but I think he’s a little timed at the moment but maybe he’ll come around. If this kit was more available and lots were out there for the offering I would cut it off but there’s not so I’m keeping it original. I do have another Kenworth W900A I will be cutting the sleeper off and making it something different in the future. Thanks for stopping by. 2

Yes I was lucky enough to snag this one for a cheap price I think it was listed wrong. 1
Biggu Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 I’m in the ‘jump seat’ for this one, Lee. This is going to be good ! 1

Pete68 Posted December 5, 2024 Author Posted December 5, 2024 This evening I got the Cab and Frame painted before the bottom drops out of the temps tomorrow. Added the Tanks,Wheels and Mudflaps tonight. 2
BK9300 Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 Beautiful blue paint job you’ve laid down, Lee - any chrome should stand out great against that colour. 2
Biggu Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 Totally agree with Brian and Gary, that color will pop any chrome or contrasting decal stripe. I had no idea there were so many 1/32 trucks out there ….. guess I don’t get out much …. This is shaping up to be a real beauty , Lee…. Show us more …
Rockford Posted December 6, 2024 Posted December 6, 2024 Nice contrasting colour choice, will look really good I think. 2

Pete68 Posted December 6, 2024 Author Posted December 6, 2024 I took some outside pics to show how much Flake is in the paint. I used Testors Star Spangle Blue. 5
BK9300 Posted December 6, 2024 Posted December 6, 2024 Quite the colour difference from inside to outside! 3
