Firebuilder Posted August 4 Author Posted August 4 The chevrons have been retaped look a lot more even side to side. They have also been painted. There was some bleeding under the tape in a couple of areas , so after the paints sits for a few days those areas will be repaired. 2
BK9300 Posted August 4 Posted August 4 More progress, Dom! You'd think those chevrons, on a real truck, would make it impossible for another vehicle to run into the pumper. I read a story the other day about a driver who hit the back of a unit like this - go figure! 1

I read a story the other day about a driver who hit the back of a unit like this - go figure! Progress has been good, almost at the stage it will be complete. New dilemma is where to put it. I am out of room in my display cases. In my 35 years in the fire service, I have seen it many times, where people slam in to emergency vehicles. It doesn’t matter how many lights, cones, chevrons or vehicles in blocking positions. They still hit us. Especially in today’s world with so many distracted drivers. At night it’s the worst with impaired drivers. 1

Firebuilder Posted Tuesday at 11:45 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 11:45 PM (edited) More progress….. the end of this build is in sight. The kit light bars were slightly modified by adding a thin piece of plastic to the bottom of bar, the bar was hollow. A piece of foil tape was added before it was glued on to hopefully reflect a little . Edited Tuesday at 11:54 PM by Firebuilder 1
