Quick build to get me in the groove!

Using my weathering tutorial on the body (and a little bit of virgils also..soem salt here and there, small chips, and Virgils on the chassis.

Everything is freshly painted..so no..color washes yet.

..hmm anyways

I have the engine almost complete, man I love these engines. I used a wash of "folk art - artist pigments- raw sienna" for the valve covers. I did airbrush a light thin layer of black before hand. When that sienna dries..it has a nice pigment sheen to it..looks ###### real, like fresh rust or old rust on chrome.

added a light layer of wash to the wheels.. I gotta touch up a lug nut..after noticing in the photos.

Isaacson06, Ryan has a link to his weathering technique right in his signiture line. I'm here to tell ya, it's good stuff.

Ryan, you know I'm paying attention. Good work as usual.

I remember hearing about that Ed, how are the willy's coming along? You using jeep engines for the 4cyl?(just guessing)

Actually Ryan I am Flathead Gary was kind enough to send me several pictures of Wy;;is Pick-Up trucks A couple were even complete enough to help verify some needed details . I already had some poor quality pictures of Wyllis trucks from a Kalmback book on trucks . I also had an article from Vintage Truck Magazine showing even more but not everything from a 1939 Model. The kicker was the Diamond tread running boards! Thae and the gas filler neck gave me what I needed to make a whole truck . I still used the "Street Grille " from the A M T kit as metal was in short supply even in 1948. I akso built a wood push bar as the Wyllis truck I'm building will be used to simulate a tow truck of sorts. Meanwhile the Americar coupe will be displayed besides the American Regular grade pump as the attendent puts in the vuel for the nice lady besige the car.

I promise to post Pictures George ! He reads better with pictures .......... Ed Shaver
