Bainford Posted March 5 Posted March 5 Coming along nicely, TJ. I've wanted to build one of these Revell Woodys since I was a ki Things are looking very good so far. 1
JollySipper Posted April 7 Author Posted April 7 We have more progress! I've been working on the wooden panels some, and wanted to get you guys' opinion...... They need touching up and a coat of matte clear still. Like I said, some touching up is in order......... They look a lot better in person! What can I do to these pieces to make it look more like real wood? There's what looks like rivets molded in too....... Should I pick those out with a wash or something? Finally, more interior work........ The back of the front seat attaches to the inside of the two walls of the truck's body, so that will be added later...... Anywhooooo..... That's what I've gotten done since last time. Thanks! 2
JollySipper Posted April 7 Author Posted April 7 I put a bit of a wash over the lighter color.......... I think this looks much better! 3
johnyrotten Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Looking great. It's amazing what a bit of a wash can do for detail. 1
JollySipper Posted April 7 Author Posted April 7 Thank You, John! I'm still unsure about the panels...... The decals for that part are too pink looking to go with the rest of the car. They need something, though......

They definitely look pink. I came across a video a while back, model car muse I believe, that resized and printed Woodgrain on decal paper.
JollySipper Posted April 12 Author Posted April 12 Hey, guys! Some more progress......... I decided to just paint the panels solid. I don't think I'm gonna be able to get the doors to operate, the pins that the hinges swing on are just too delicate. One door is in place in the pic...... The wrought iron straps on the tailgate have been painted too..... I can pretty much begin final assembly soon! Thanks for letting me share my progress, guys, I hope you enjoy.......... 2
