Just Jim Posted February 27 Posted February 27 Came across this on the web. Has anyone ever seen this before or is this guy the best kit basher ever? Can’t imagine how much one would cost if real but I’d love to have one. 1
DJMar Posted February 27 Posted February 27 (edited) Back in 1974, there was a Swedish drag team running a Chevy-powered, Celica-bodied flopper, sponsored by Canon. AFAIK, there has never been a kit of this car. I'm going to assume the model you posted was scratchbuilt. https://www.hotrod.com/features/united-nations-april-1974-982-1048-116-1/ Edited February 27 by DJMar 2
Just Jim Posted February 27 Author Posted February 27 Thanks for the background and classic pictures. Not sure I’ll ever have the modeling skills to pull something like that off. Only one way to find out I guess… 1
iBorg Posted February 27 Posted February 27 This looks to me to be a modified diecast sized like a Hot Wheels.
hustinettenbaer Posted March 5 Posted March 5 This one is scale 1:24, chassis is from a Monogram Cop Out! The japanese publication "Model Cars Tuning" (Neko Mook 2286) did a Toyota Celica Build Off, with 3 pages about this Team Rod Benders "Lightning Blast" AA/FC Celica LB 7000 GT funnycar. 1
