Resin Motorsports Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Hey Everyone, Resin Motorsports has begun work on a new project. We will be creating a 1966 batmobile kit. We hope to make this one of the best batmobile kits in the resin market. I hope to have some pictures of this project up within the next few weeks. If you have any suggestions on what you would like to see this kit include please let us know. This kit will include the option to have either a ford big block engine included or a turbine engine with corresponding chassis depending on the option you make.
Custom Hearse Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 I would love to see and get a full detail Batmobile kit!!!! Where do I sign up for it? I have wanted to build one forever and a day. I ordered a Mad Dog resin Batmobile a long time ago, and it was JUNK! It was a solid block of resin, had a ton of air bubbles, and if I threw it at someone, I could have killed them! Please come out with this kit full detail, and notify me when you are ready to distribute them! Thanks!!!!
Resin Motorsports Posted April 30, 2009 Author Posted April 30, 2009 Hey, Thanks for the input so far i will be updating this topic with info and pictures as this project goes along. Photo Etched peices will be included in this kit along with colored lenses. We are currently toying with the idea of including a flashing beacon light.
Blue coyote Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Wicked idea! Probably well beyond what I'd pay for a kit by the time its done, but so are 95% of resin kits anyway (because I'm a cheap F***er, not because of the price tag) I'd still be tempted though. '66 was an AWESOME year after all (my own vintage)

Are you trying to get me to drool all over the keyboard? Well, if you are, it's working!!!! PLEASE let me know when this is ready!!!!
Eshaver Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 Uh , had a friend who worked for Barris bout the time that the Futura was getting a Makeoner . I was informed that the Fiberglass " Stunt cars were using standard Sedan frames and 390 Engines . Sure , do yer homework, and I'll buy one ! I spent Years doing the research on the 1955 G M C L' Universalle . I even got so far as to almost complete a 1-1 L'Universalle. Problem was, we couldm't figgure out hoe to pwere the transmission . Remember , this was a Fromt Wheel drive . Years later Rick Wagner while he was still with G M informed me that the transaxle was a Pontiac Tempest Prototype ! As to what I might do thats different " Hey how about a : Correct Dosge Deora Truck ? Harley Earl's Y Job comes to mind . The Lesabre show car was modeled once by Palmer of all people , not bad too. I think if you ask Clay he would sugest a Studebaker Coupe Express Pick up hey , lets go to de races! I would like to see a decent job done to the old Monogram 55 Ford Panel Delivery, look at the roof ! Somebody sat on it ! Ed Shaver
Guest Davkin Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 Better not let Warner Brothers or DC Comics get wind of this......
george 53 Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 The Batmobile had chrome on it? Anyways,Dave MIGHT have a point there. As greedy as corporate lawyers are I wouldn't be surprised if you DID get a " Cease and Desist" order from someone WB,Universal Pics, or even Barris!
roadhawg Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 While you're at it, how about a full-detail 1/25 scale Green Hornet's Black Beauty to go with it? We're never happy, are we?
george 53 Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 Here,Here!!! I TOTALLY agree with Tom! We NEED a Black Beauty! AND GH,Kato figures to ride in it! I made me a Batmobile, with a few libertys, and I'd LOVE to have the Black Beauty!!!!!!!
Resin Motorsports Posted May 4, 2009 Author Posted May 4, 2009 After much research regarding attempting to put a resin batmobile kit on the martket we have decided to not begin a production on our kit. The likely hood of barris going after our company is too high. After discussion with a former worker of barris we have been told that he has gone after a few companies in the past for making this kit avail to the public. Im sorry for getting everyone excited over this idea.
Dragon7665 Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 (edited) As much as I love the Original TV/Movie B-mobile, I can't really flip open a Model Mag/Search a Hobby/Sci-Fi Website without coming across a Hiney Load of Companies that are offering one..... Sure it would be great to get a semi-accurate 1/25th or 1/24th even '66 B-mobile, but why not an Original offer of a 1/25th or 1/24th '66 GH BB Unless Seth Rogen's up coming Movie with him as the GH has turned everybody off of the idea, or some seem to think that there actually might be a Styrene Version coming from one of the Larger Model Companies???? Guest Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 What I dont understand is if diecasts can be done, why not a 1/25 plastic kit? And yes, there was chrome, the wheels.
