Dingo Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 I have just aquired this kit only last Thursday 30th April and have built only the motor to see what it's like and as U can see by the below photo it ain't too bad. I plan is to build over time a luxury motorhome complete with tagalong trailer fully fitted out with a small workshop to maintain the Dodge Charger Daytona, This kit will take the best part of a year to do as I have to buy in many parts as well as build some, which will be my first attempt at scratch building. The Motor The boxed Cityliner Coach The entire year long project. Dingo
Brian Fishburn Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 Let it never be said that you are not ambitious! This should be fun to watch develop!
Foxer Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 (edited) Very cool... been wanting to see a build of this. Your plans sound very interesting. That engine would look good in a rod! eheh One word of caution though .. I'm not sure that huge thing will fit in Australia .. may have to do some resizing on each coast! Edited May 2, 2009 by Foxer
george 53 Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 Thanx for the pic,Ding. At least now I know what it's SUPPOSED to look like! I got this bad boy back in Nov.of last year, an all I've done to it since then is Grok it! Hopefully, you'll keep us posted as you go along, as I too am wanting to build it as a luxury motor coach. Never thought about the Galaxie trailer though.Yep, I got a few of them too. Maybe we could do a "Motor Coach Build - Off"! Any takers out there? Please, by all means, keep us posted!.
Dingo Posted May 3, 2009 Author Posted May 3, 2009 Foxer size is not a problem here in Oz we run 48 & 50 footers in stabdard coaches plus I've seen semi-trialer set-ups as motorhomes as well, It is going to be a huge and hard project to do but at least I'm prepared to take up the challenge not like spme who say and don't do (not that I'm saying anyone here does that) this project is planned to take a year to do as I have to buy furniture from the U.S. & Europe and with the Aussie dollar being so low at the moment this will take that long, an Australian pension is not a great amount but I'll get there. Motor but needs wiring Overhead shot of floor with passenger seat positions Overhead shot of floor with false flat floor in position, drivers position is temporary and not glued in. Dingo
Foxer Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Don't take my joking too seriously, Dingo, I only mean to lighten up our builds. This IS supposed to be fun! I have many Aussie friends, though most are in Darwin. I see you are a Southern boy. I really do want to see this build. This kit has interested me since release, though it's just too large for my spaces here. I love seeing the big trucks too that roar into this forum, but those too would never fit on my shelf space. )) Thanks for posting the pics!
Dingo Posted May 3, 2009 Author Posted May 3, 2009 (edited) Foxer they don't fit my shelves either I have all my trucks in their boxes at the moment only half finished this one will be headed the same way for awhile I only started it to see what it would look like and man all I can say is holy ######, wow what a monster, the following photos will show all what this is going to be at the end a motorhome hauling a trailer. Oh and by the way Fozer yea I know what u mean by not taking things serious I didn't I was just saying that our equipment down here is much bigger than in the States or even Europe we don't have rules covering lenght or other sizes except twhen it come to raodtrains they can't come below a set line which is just outside of most city. In my home town we have a suburb just north of the city, well it is about 7 kays north of the CBD and that's how close the big roadtrains get, we have interstae coaches towing trailers come into town and all. The body is held together with magic tape for the photo shoot. Dingo Edited May 3, 2009 by Dingo
Foxer Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 The trailer looks like it BELONGS back there ... goes together well. That's no small hitch in back of a pickup, but it's dwarfed by the bus! ehehe Looking good
vizio93 Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 is that the engine your gonna put into your 69 charger? i remember that you wouldn't tell any body what you were gonna to put into it. can't wait to see this build finished
Dingo Posted May 4, 2009 Author Posted May 4, 2009 Visio93 no that's not the motor for the Dodge Charger it is still waiting for the motor to be done as for this Motorhome project it will be quite a while before anyone will see it start going ahad as I have said my wife is still ill ( migraine suffer) and those headaches wo't break untillate May or early june mostly late May BUT when it gets going it will be built to a set position before the roof goes on (which will be removalable) so the interior can be seen with all the furniture if U can all undestand wot I mean there????. Sorry this has come to a standstill but I just had to show all that I na have the whole project and it's ready to go ahead when the little lady gets well . Dingo
vizio93 Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 ohh that's not good. i don't even like having head aches. hope she gets better have to wait an see what u do with your models. good luck
