HEIC format is not all that much more efficient than JPEG space-wise, but the real problem is that there are still some browsers out there (and operating systems) which cannot display the HEIC image format. Once a photo is uploaded to a post it does not reside in that thread. It resides in your attachment section of the forum. Only a link to that image resides in the post. If you reuse that image in another post, another link to your attached image will be created. To see what files you uploaded (attached) go to https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/attachments/ As an example here is a snippet from mine. As you can see, I have used the Badger200 image in 3 separate posts and the CanDo image in 4 posts (but only one copy of the image exists on the forum server). All of this is a 1st world problem.
