BK9300 Posted Wednesday at 09:46 PM Posted Wednesday at 09:46 PM Did I see a mini drill press in one of the previous photos of your bench? Otherwise, pretty handy with a pin vise drill! Looks good. 1

Gary Chastain Posted Thursday at 03:35 PM Author Posted Thursday at 03:35 PM Wow, I had trouble finding TS-50 Mica Blue for my trailer, visited several web sites but no good, went on eBay and bought from 3 different companies to get 5 spray cans. Also been looking for the Revell Peterbilt 357 with the opening doors, found one for 140.00 bucks on eBay (kinda pricey), seems they are tuff to get right now. Seems many things are tough to get these days. Times sure are changing. 1
ShakyCraftsman Posted Thursday at 03:41 PM Posted Thursday at 03:41 PM They most definitely are Gary. The old Revell kits are extremely expensive now adays. Ron G 2

Gary Chastain Posted Thursday at 07:19 PM Author Posted Thursday at 07:19 PM Third section going on with crossmembers, tried to fixture up the glue up to keep everything square. 3

Gary Chastain Posted 4 hours ago Author Posted 4 hours ago Lots of crossmembers to be fabricated, but had to do a quick mock-up to make sure trailer can pivot behind truck without hitting fenders on truck. got to figure out crank up jacks, pictures shows these trailers being dropped on wooden blocks, not sure I like that. Thought about single large Jack in the center. 1
Biggu Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Wooden blocks is how we used to drop our low bed, there were no dolly wheels or pads, it was the only way we would be able to pick it up again, of course until we got our drop neck bed, then that is a different story.... 2

I am not very familiar with this style of trailer and thought the wooden blocks where nonsense, but as you say, they just drop these trailers on wooden blocks. Who knew. 1
Biggu Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago The deal with the blocks is that it keeps the king pin on the goose neck high enough to slide the tractor under it. If not on blocks ….. well, You know. Our tractor didn’t have air bags back then so for our application the blocks were critical. I think today with air bags the operation may be somewhat different…. Especially with the detachable goose neck trailers. 1
