Jürgen M. Posted April 19 Posted April 19 (edited) Hi everyone! I finally got my project "Superliner" finished, including a lowboy trailer. I first didn't know if I would make a trailer for this one but what's a heavy duty tri-drive without a trailer? Seeing the lack of space to put models, even after having built a show case, I decided to build a lowboy and put two older models on it so I can put coming projects in their place on the shelf! Anyway, I finished the rig and strapped two other Macks on it! That's when I had the idea of the "Triple Big Mac(k)!" Special thanks to Bren, who printed my Superliner hood on his resin printer for me. I just couldn't get it done nicely on my own filament printer! You saved me! 😊 Enjoy the pics! First just the tractor: The dent in the grille on the front left side was my way of integrating a crack in the hood due to my clumsy hands. I dropped the finished hood just before mounting it! Now with lowboy: By the way, for those who missed the build thread, the whole rig (Superliner and lowboy) are self designed and printed. Decals also self designed and printed on decal sheet! The loaded trucks are old kits. The AMT Mack Cruiserliner and the Ertl Mack DM800! Both built in the mid 80s and refurbished not too long ago! Now the whole thing including the loaded trucks: Thanks for stopping by! Edited April 19 by Jürgen M. 6
Biggu Posted April 19 Posted April 19 (edited) That is very cool buddy!! The Superliner looks to be the muscle on this build. A unique load as well. Its one thing to build out of the box with a few mods here and there like I do, but it is a whole different level, when you design, print and build a model. This really turned out to be a unique build. It turned out great and looks the part of a well loaded truck. Good job 👍 Edited April 19 by Biggu
Jürgen M. Posted April 19 Author Posted April 19 Thanks very much Jeff! I actually never wanted to build a Superliner but somehow I decided to and I wasn't really convinced it would become a nice build! Now I'm quite satisfied and I have two more trucks off the shelf! 😊 1
BK9300 Posted April 19 Posted April 19 Great looking trio of Mack’s! Your process of designing and printing your own ‘kits’ lead to very unique builds - well done! 1

RoninUtah Posted April 19 Posted April 19 It was fascinating following your build thread, and the results are incredible! That is one muscular Mack, and what makes it special is that it’s completely unique. The completed rig with the other two Macks is most impressive! 1
Jürgen M. Posted April 19 Author Posted April 19 (edited) Thank you very much Ron! I'm proud to hear so many positive reactions of such professional modellers like you, Bren, Jeff, Brian, Gary, ... I hope to decide soon about my next project! First I'll be on vacation for a couple of days to recharge my batteries. But I'll be following your threads by mobile! Have a nice Easter weekend! cifenet Posted Sunday at 06:28 PM Posted Sunday at 06:28 PM This is a great accomplishment, I enjoyed the build process and also I really like the use of bright body color and matching wheel. Very stylish too. Good job, Jürgen!
